My first goal was to visit every prefecture in Japan. Once I had accomplished that, I began considering my next challenge. I quickly dismissed the idea of climbing Japan’s 100 famous mountains, then more slowly let go of the idea of tackling Kansai’s 100 famous mountains. Eventually, I settled on a different pursuit: visiting as many islands—both well-known and obscure—as I can. It’s an endless journey, giving me the freedom to explore at my own pace.
Indicated are the islands of which you will find either a report or a picture album.
