I might need a compass...

My new work seems interesting, but I’m a bit afraid though. I have to learn a lot of thigs in very little time, and I seem to have a difficult time communicating with most of my colleagues here in Itami. I’m not sure if it’s the language or the age of my co-workers, but when I went to the Tokyo branch this week it was a whole different atmosphere. Smaller and younger. Anyway, I’m not complaining. I’m only here for two weeks, it’s normal that it’s hard in the beginning.

On Tuesday I will go back to Tokyo, attending the press conference for the upcoming Belgian Beer Weekend in Tokyo. Hans is very good in this kind of public appearances, I wonder how I will do…

This weekend I bought my new steel stallion, and the Swedish guy (Chris) who runs a bar near my apartment guided me a bit around. I have to admit I didn’t really follow where he was going.
So I tried again today on my own to find the huge shopping mall, and instead of 30 minutes it took me around 4 hours. I went south where I should have gone north.

Something makes me think I won’t get used to this town quickly…

I already do know the way to a lovely park in my neighbourhood. When I was on the plane to Tokyo, I saw a pond with small islands in the form of Japan. Apparently That park is right next to where I live. Of course you cannot see the shape of the islands when standing on the ground, but nonetheless, it is a wide and calm park. Nice to spend your times on days like today.

There are some nice places here in Itami and its surroundings. It doesn’t have the splendid nature and views of Matsumoto, but I’m pretty happy about the place.

Well… those 4 hours really tired me out… so I’ll have a rest…

P.S.: Due to my current visa status I cannot buy a cell phone or internet yet. I’ll trey to clear it out with someone from work.
